Faryl Smith
Faryl has been singing since she was seven years old. Faryl took part in a school concert and was due to sing in the chorus but her voice was so prominent that her teachers asked Faryl to sing a solo. Faryl wasn't confident enough to do this and sung the part with two friends instead. Faryl is currently involved in the local choir and sings in churches and concerts in the local area. Faryl believes that she gets her talent from her great Grandmother (93). Faryl's proudest moment came when she was ten when she won an international singing competition in Wales. As part of the prize she got to go meet her idol, Kathryn Jenkins. Faryl's ultimate ambition is to inspire younger people to enjoy classical music in the same way that Kathryn Jenkins has brought it to the mainstream. Faryl was inspired to enter Britain's Got Talent after watching Paul Potts perform last year.
Faryl lives with her parents and older brother, Shea 16, in Kettering. Her Mum, Linda is a hairdresser and her Dad Tony is a health and safety officer on construction sites. As well as singing Faryl is involved in the local theatre, and is also a keen football player.
Andrew Muir
Andrew has been singing from a very young age but has never had the confidence to perform publicly until he was 13 when he and his friends entered a school talent competition. Andrew now performs regularly in his local area and helps to organise charity nights with his friends to raise money. Andrew is a trained plumber and lives with his parents above their pub. Andrew is very close to his grandparents who he says have inspired him to be a good person.
