GMTV presenter and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Kate Garraway has accepted 'substantial' damages from the Sunday Mirror and Daily Mirror newspapers after they printed allegations of an affair between Kate and her Strictly Come Dancing dance partner Anton du Beke
Kate Garraway took action against publisher MGN Limited at the High Court in London after two articles emerged in the Sunday Mirror and Daily Mirror in February.
Kate, who is married to former Labour spin doctor, now psychotherapist, Derek Draper, said she was glad the matter was resolved. "The way my friendship with Anton was twisted into something sordid was terribly unfair and upsetting," Kate, 39, said.
Mr Draper said he was glad Garraway and Du Beke were friends.
Mirror Group Newspapers has agreed to publish apologies and pay Garraway undisclosed damages and costs.
